Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.” We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week. It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe. This week, there is not much to be thankful for in the way of comics. Most of them are interesting solely based on being odd conceptually.
This weeks offerings:
Madman In Your Face 3d Special
Michael and Laura Allred are some of our favorites at Comical Musings. His creator-owned series is a much loved cult classic.
This super-sized special-effects spectacular features an all-new Madman story by MICHAEL ALLRED, plus an exclusive 3D gallery of superstar talent: PAOLO RIVERA, MARCOS MARTIN, JAE LEE, EDUARDO RISSO, EMMA RIOS, NICK DRAGOTTA, ANDREW ROBINSON, SEAN MURPHY, MARIS WICKS, AARON CONLEY, JENNY FRISON, DECLAN SHALVEY, BECKY CLOONAN, JOE QUINONES, MING DOYLE, NICK BRADSHAW, and more! Plus newly converted 3D versions of the acclaimed ‘Swiped From Dimension X,’ where Allred drew almost every panel in the style of a different artist, and ‘The World’s Biggest Comic Book Panel.’ Also includes a cut-out 3D cube and surprises galore! Custom MADMAN 3D glasses included!
This sounds crazy and well-worth $10. It’s a comics event!
Literally, the only comic book that I have full confidence in this week is Memetic #2. I loved issue 1 and having never read Tynion IV, his voice felt very fresh to me. A gay protagonist dealing with a more realistic application of “the anti-life equation” by meme is thoroughly entertaining. I have big hopes for this BOOM! Studios series!
Gotham By Midnight #1
Have you ever said “I like Ben Templesmith, but 30 Days Of Night is dumb and I wants to read a Batman story?” Well Ray Fawkes and Ben Templesmith heard your prayers and here it is. It should be SPIRIT-ed and SPECTRE-tacular.
Superior Iron Man #2
So, apparently Iron Man is a jerk and gave everyone in San Francisco god-like powers for a little bit, only to take them away and try to charge people tons of money for it. Jerk. Also, he looks like an Apple product.
Matt Fraction so CRAZY. This promises to be a beautiful expression of that. “The heaviest trip is the one back home.”
