What Comics To Watch For On Wednesday, 08/13

Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.”  We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week.  It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe.

This week’s offerings:

Astro City #14

“Bad Guy Robot Junkyard” is a cool backdrop for a Samaritan story.  I would have recommended it anyways because…Astro City.

Avengers Undercover #8

This series has actually been really interesting and wholly crazy.  Now we fast forward three months?  Multiply the craziness!

Skullkickers #30

Tavern Tales is back and Skullkickers continues to honor outside talent with their special issues.

Dead@17 The Blasphemy Throne #1

An original heavy-hitting indie series returns with a new incarnation of Josh Howard’s popular story.

All-New X-Men #30

The cover to this one has me riveted.  If X-23 and Angel from the past made babies in the present…

Starlight #5

Mark Millar is swaying people’s opinions of him left and right with his delicate and deliberate storytelling in Starlight.  Even Ifanboy likes it and they have been critical of Millar in past times.  Whether you love Millar or don’t, this could be your title to jump on to.

Walking Dead #130

This series is going to very logical places and is a powerhouse that has stayed interesting for 130 issues and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
