Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.” We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week. It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe.
This week’s offerings:
All New X-Men Special #1
Bendis’ excellent story gets an added boost from guest stars Spider-Man and The Hulk. I have a feeling that this might be “special.”
All New X-Men #17
Big things are beginning to happen in the Battle For The Atom. We have got HIGHLIGHT FOR SPOILER: three sets of X-Men on the field now. Killer. Who’s telling the truth? Who’s lying? Who walks away? Who’s dragged? We’ll find out…
Trillium #3
This is pretty much my favorite ever as it has been established that Jeff Lemire is my secret sweet boo. But seriously, the concept + long-form storytelling + beautiful and sketchy Lemire art = FABULOUS!
Todd The Ugliest Kid On Earth #6
Todd may not be the ugliest kid on earth, but that other guy on the cover might be. Plus, he has cross guns. The super-rendered art is just really pretty visuals of an ugly world. Love this series.
Hinterkind#1
Vertigo is still great…weakened by the loss of multiple titles, but still dropping interesting stories on the populace. This one looks beautiful and crazy. I’m on board for issue #1.
Star Wars #1 / $1 Edition
Brian Wood’s Star Wars for a buck is a no-brainer. Go get you some.
