Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.” We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week. It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe. This week’s SPOOKY HALLOWEEN edition may have more comics that are tricks than are treats, but you will have to decide for yourself…
This week’s offerings:
Sandman Overture #1
Despite your feelings about serial killer conventions, Doctor Destiny, or goth stuff…Sandman is a polarizing work of fiction and we are getting the first new/authentic Sandman stuff in 25 years. The cover to this is also killer as J.H. Williams III is a blog favorite artist.
Adventure Time Spooktacular #1
Adventure Time is great stuff. I actually dressed up with my wife as the Ice King and Princess Bubblegum for Halloween. This is a spooky Adventure Time special and I am sure that it is worth the read.
The Raven And The Red Death #1
My favorite Edgar Allen Poe story when I was growing up was the Masque Of The Red Death. Here it is in comic form. Thanks Dark Horse!
Damian Son Of Batman #1
Is there anything left in the tank for this character? I dunno, but doing a Damian series is gutsy to me. I like gutsy…good boom or bust potential. They just have to get his voice right…
