What Comics To Watch For On Wednesday, 12/03

Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.”  We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week.  It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe.  This is a big week that’s gonna’ make us all broke!

This weeks offerings:

Valiant-Sized Quantum & Woody #1

An all-new Quantum & Woody tale has us excited.  Really missed an opportunity to have the goat hoof featured on the cover, though!

Thanos Vs. Hulk #1

Jim Starlin (40+ years in comics with a strained relationship with Marvel) is writing and drawing a comic book where Pip the Troll kidnaps The Hulk to be given to Annihilus.  Everyone’s favorite teleporting space troll is running amok and somehow it triggers a fight between two Marvel Universe heavies.  I’d read that.

Shaft #1

He’s one bad mother-shut your mouth.  Hey…we’re only talking about Shaft.  Here, we see if Dynamite will ruin another licensed property.

Hinterkind #13

Everybody loves post-apocalyptic stories, but the world of Hinterkind has me really interested in seeing what things were like BEFORE the current time frame of the narrative.  This is one of those flashback issues.

Five Ghosts #14

Part 2 of the new story arc.  Fabian Vs. Van Helsing.  Should be a fight for the ages.  Check out a book that people in the know are into.

God Hates Astronauts #4

At Comical Musings, we love GHA (except Tim).  Ryan Browne‘s wacky, madcap tomfoolery is influencing the industry and always entertaining to us (except Tim).  Judging by the cover, King Tiger Eating A Cheeseburger looks like he will eat many other things.

Chew #45

Life without Poyo is a sad life indeed.  Sure, there are huge plot/character developments as Chew is building to it’s conclusion, but you say the words “wraparound Poyo cover” and you got me…also, you get me…and I want us to date.

Tooth & Claw #2

My FAVORITE new series went hard in issue #1 and I loved it.  Let’s see if issue #2 brings the pain as those who thought themselves superior find the playing field leveled.  Also, what is inside the pearl?  These questions and MANY more are expected to be answered in Tooth & Claw #2, variant cover by Alex Ross!
