Hi, welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.” We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week. It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe.
This week’s offerings:
Action Comics #26
Ifanboy.com is all excited about Greg Pak writing Superman stories. I am not a big Superman fan, but DC has to do something to strengthen their brand and if there are good Superman comics, it is good for comics.
Amazing Spider-Man #700.1
Peter is coming back? Alright then…
Batman Superman #6
Please refer to the suggested post for Action Comics #26 above. Also, Mongul is a great villain and presents a genuine challenge for the fearsome duo of Superman and Batman.
Great Pacific #12
This is one of my guilty pleasure comics and since it is becoming a real thing, I think it should get some WTWFOW love. Friend of the blog, Rick Cromack describes main character, Chaz Worthington as:
“Brilliant, arrogant, Machiavellian, and infantile, all in one… A hybrid of Tony Soprano and Dr. Evil.”
You gotta’ give it a shot and if you are in the Dallas area, buy it at Rick’s store.
Inhumanity #1
I want to wipe the indecision and poor taste from “Infinity” from my mouth and I am hoping that this title, born from the ashes will rise to slate my thirst. Wacky characters with Fraction and Coipel at the helm sounds like a good time to me.
Superior Spider-Man #23
I love Eddie Brock and I love Venom. It is a passion born from my 1990’s soaked DNA. This story promises big revelations for Venom and Brock as a character.
