Welcome To Tangled Web Week!

Ladies and gentleman, children of all ages, I would like to welcome you to Tangled Web week on Comicalmusings.com.  Occasionally, we like to do week-long events where we all take issues out of a series and tell you what we thought of them.  Through the multiple viewpoints on one series, we tend to flesh out what is great about the book and through repetition, entice you to read it.  The series that we are honoring this week is “Spider-Man’s Tangled Web.”

Tangled Web came out from 2001-2003 and was a famed anthology for featuring work by atypical writers for the title.  Names like Peter Milligan, Duncan Fegredo, Kaare Andrews, Darwyn Cooke, Zeb Wells, Sean Phillips, Brian Azzarello, Paul Pope, Jim Mahfood, and Ted McKeever grace the covers of each issue.  I loved this series in college and bought it religiously.  Back then, I knew “knew something cool was going on,” but now through my personal growth and interest in the industry, I know that this series was very unique.  There were rival, DC/Indy writers coming over to play in the Marvel pool with it’s most famous character.  It was monumental.

Now, we celebrate a series to look around Spider-Man.  In the stories that we review, he isn’t always the focal point.  There is artistic license and various opinions from strong voices in comic books channeling all through these books.  We hope that you enjoy the reviews that we put out EVERY day this week and take a shot at purchasing them from Mycomicshop.com.  They are inexpensive and well worth your time.
