Welcome to our weekly post where we tell you “What Comics to Watch For On Wednesday.” We are doing our best to recommend a few titles worth your time this week. It is good to note that we rarely suggest mid-run titles, because we try to provide good jumping on points or oddities that must be seen to believe. This week, we are short on commentary and long on ACTION!
This week’s offerings:
Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur #1
An unlikely team-up that bridges time and space!
Jacked #1
You can be a super hero, but what gets you there is habit-forming…you in?!
Venom Space Knight #1
Flash Thompson toolin’ around space and fightin’ aliens!
Chew #52
Chew is coming to an end.
American Vampire
Vampires toolin’ around space too!
The Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1
There is a lot of concern about this book. Putting another chapter into Lord Of The Rings or another chapter into The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe or another chapter into Harry Potter…these are all questionable propositions. This could be spectacular or spectacularly bad.
Itty Bitty Hellboy: Search For The Were-Jaguar #1
Dark Horse is greatness for featuring Art Baltazar and Franco on another Itty Bitty Hellboy story.
Aw yeah! Art Baltazar and Franco return to Itty Bitty Hellboy! This time, Hellboy, Abe, Liz, and friends are on a very special quest . . . to deliver underwear to the Island of Rogers! But their mission is suddenly interrupted by the discovery of the strange, mysterious beast known as the were-jaguar!
Saga #31
Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples toolin’ around space as well! Just kidding though. Saga features another time jump and the same fan-favorite writing and art that have brought this series to the forefront of popular comics in this generation of comics readers.
Ringside #1
I always get super excited when there are sports comics. Here, Joe Keatinge and Nick Barber take on professional wrestling!
Black Hood #7
Black Hood volume 2 starts here! Come on with it Dark Circle!
‘The Lonely Crusade’: Part 1-The second action-packed arc of The Black Hood begins here! Greg Hettinger returns to Philadelphia and promises his closest friend, Jessie Dupree, that his hood-wearing vigilante days are over. But it’s a promise he’s going to struggle to keep – especially when a gang calling themselves ‘The Crusaders’ are prowling the City of Brotherly Love, scooping up ‘undesirables’ and asking if they want to be saved!
